WHO SHOULD ATTEND? Fire Prevention and Building Department staff, fire protection system designers and installers, architects, consultants, engineers, and others who design, plan check and/or inspect automatic fire sprinkler systems and/or fire alarm systems.
CLASS CONTENT: The seminar emphasizes the changes required for code complying systems that are in the 2002 versions of NFPA 13 and & NFPA 72 currently applicable in California. A discussion regarding the changes to the 2007 editions of both codes will also be provided. Systems that do not comply with current codes can have significant direct and indirect costs. This seminar is a local, inexpensive way to minimize your professional liability and to network with your colleagues.
INSTRUCTORS: Frank Monikowski, Fire Sprinkler/Special Hazards Marketing Manager for SimplexGrinnell, will be presenting the NFPA 13-2002 changes in the morning session. Frank’s background include work with Factory Mutual as a Loss Prevention Engineer, as well as various roles within Grinnell Fire Protection over the last 31 years. Frank is a member of NFPA, SFPE, and a past board member for the Associated Builders and Contractors.
Bill Hopple, Manager of Industry Relations for SimplexGrinnell, will be presenting the NFPA 72-2002 changes in the afternoon session. Bill is the current President of the California Fire Alarm Association and is actively involved in NFPA 72 committees. Bill has been an SFPE member since 1972 and is a member of the California State Fire Marshal Fire Alarm Advisory Committee.
COST: FULL DAY: $150 for SoCal-SFPE members, $175 for non-members. Tuition includes food and beverages for breaks and lunch, as well as copies of the California amendments to both NFPA 13 and 72.
